Osiriximaging.com was created for my project research for the requirements of my Master of Science degree in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Illinois at Chicago . John Daugherty , CMI, Scott Dixon and Scott Barrows , CMI, FAMI, served as my project research committee members.
During a class taught by John Daugherty , I was introduced to OsiriX , a free medical imaging software for Mac OS X computers used by radiologists to view DICOM files from MRI, CT and PET/CT datasets. For medical illustrators, it can serve as a dynamic resource for anatomical structures.
I hope this website helps to facilitate the use of OsiriX as a resource for medical illustrators . Through the articles, tutorials, gallery , and forum on this site, I want to bring together medical illustrators who can share their experiences of using OsiriX in their work flow to create 2D illustrations and 3D animations.
If you are interested in contributing an article or tutorial or would like to have your work featured in the gallery, please leave me a comment. You can also register to join the forum to talk about topics related to medical imaging as it relates to medical illustration.
